SSG Landers, which is seeking to transform into a new team in 2024, has recruited a number of new coaches.
The SSG club announced on the 11th, “We have recruited 1st team battery coach Fumihiro Suzuki, 1st team hitting assistant coach Kim Jong-hoon, 2nd team pitching coach Ryu Taek-hyeon, and 2nd team defense coach Masato Watanabe.”
Among these, Coach Suzuki had many years of experience as a first-team battery coach in the Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB).
The club decided to recruit Coach Suzuki because it believed he would help the growth of existing resource Cho Hyeong-woo, as well as Park Dae-on and Shin Beom-soo, who joined in the second round of the draft.
Coach Masato, who played for Chiba Lotte in Japan and later served as a defense coach for an independent Japanese club, also coaches SSG players.
New coach Kim Jong-hoon wears the SSG uniform for the first time after serving as a leader in the Samsung Lions 1st and 2nd teams from 2010 to 2022.
This is the first time that new coach Ryu Taek-hyun, who has accumulated leadership experience at LG Twins, KT Wiz, and KIA Tigers, is affiliated with SSG.
With the hiring of a new coach, the existing 1st team battery coach Yoon Yo-seop was changed to the 2nd team battery coach, and the 2nd team battery coach Jeong Jin-seok was changed to the remaining team general coach.
Second-team pitching coach Kim Dong-ho will serve as a biomechanics and driveline coach. 19가이드03
